Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteDavid Terrell Singleton (b. 1831) was the son of Dr. Joseph Singleton, Director of the U.S. Mint at Dahlonega, Georgia. He entered the freshman class at the University of Georgia in 1848 and was a member of the Demosthenian society, although he left the University after his junior year. He married Rebecca Louisa Griggs in 1854 and was a farmer by profession. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of two University of Georgia report cards, dated August and November 1849, of D. T. Singleton. Listed on the report cards are grades for studies, fines for various offenses, absences from prayers, church, recitation, and rooms, and of the number of students in his class, how many have been more regular in their attendance.
