		regarding orders to go with the C.S.S. Resolute, Lt. J.P. Jones commanding, to protect Wassaw Island and the enslaved people building a fort there as he attempts to return from Charleston aboard the C.S.S. Savannah.

		the letter mentions anchoring the Sampson in the marsh near Fort Jackson with the C.S.S. Resolute to guard the river.

		orders are given for the placement of the Sampson as a guard boat in the creek behind the floating battery. General orders are given as to the disposition of officers and guards on duty when anchored below Savannah.
