Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThis collection contains posters and other printed ephemera related to Athen's music scene in the 1980s. Most of the posters advertise performances at Athens' 40 Watt Club Uptown, a music venue renown for it's role in the development of punk rock and hosting local bands R.E.M. and the B-52's who went on to gain national fame. Also included are publications relating to music as well as social and political issues of the day.
