Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteDr. Frank Egerton is a Professor Emeritus in the History Department of the University of Wisconsin, Parkside, where he has taught for 25 years. Dr. Egerton has written several works on the History of Ecology and was awarded a Distinguished Service Citation by the Ecological Society of America in 2007. Scope and ContentThis collection contains Frank Egerton's correspondence with colleagues Michael Mitchell, Lecturer of Botany at the National University of Ireland Galway, and Jean-Marc Drouin, retired professor of Philosophy and the History of Science at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. Most of these letters, postcards, and emails focus on recommendations and articles for Egerton's works on the history of Ecological Sciences, but they also include details about their personal lives and families. In addition, there are several articles written in French sent by Jean-Marc Drouin and some correspodence between Egerton and Drouin's wife and daughter including a few photographs.
