Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThis collection contains a four page newspaper handrwritten by a Confederate prisoner of war at Fort Delaware in Pea Patch Island, Delaware. The newspaper comments on Sherman's March through North Carolina, General Lee's surrender, the assassination of President Lincoln, the author's dislike of President Andrew Johnson, and the price of tobacco and bread in the camp. The first issue of this title is held at the Georgia Historical Society (ms0766).
