Collection DescriptionScope and ContentConsists of materials pertaining to Charlesey Sumner Brown's 1956 European summer trip. Brown, a teacher, was supposed to return to America onboard the S.S. Andrea Doria; however, the ship capsized and sank on July 26, 1956, a few weeks before Brown was scheduled to return home. Collection includes detailed account of travels in her journal, telegrams to her father, C.H. Whitehead, regarding rearranging travel home to America, and also receipts, brochures, and two photographs documenting her trip.
