Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteWhen Ann Vickers was 15 years old, she and her parents, Claudia and Harvey Fitzhugh Kinnett, went to the Davis' farm to visit and pick muscadines and scuppernongs. She recalls that Jack Davis picked up a pencil and a piece of paper and created this impromptu drawing of her that day. Davis dated the sketch June 19th, 1949 and Ms. Vickers penciled in "Sunday" beneath that date. Scope and ContentThis collection consists of a caricature of 15 year old Ann Vickers done by Jack Davis. The sketch is done in red pencil on brown paper and signed by Davis. Davis dated the piece June 18th, 1949 and Ms. Vickers added "Sunday" to indicate the day of the week.
