Historical Note

Donald H. "Don" Smith was born April 12, 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia. He served the United States Army in the 4th Infantry Division from 1969-1970 in Vietnam. Smith was the editor of the 4th Infantry Division publication The Ivy Leaf and a war correspondent for Stars and Stripes newspaper.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, writing, and assorted printed material from Donald H. Smith's service in the 4th Infantry Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Included are two issues of The Steadfast and Loyal and five issues of The Ivy Leaf, publications of the 4th Infantry Division.
