Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe collection consists of one letter, dated August 18, 1864, from Union soldier John Ingle to a friend in Terre Haute, Indiana. Ingle is writing fom a camp near Marietta, Georgia, and he writes of his well-being, a recent raid in Macon, and other news of fighting. A typed transcription of the letter is also included.
