Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteStephen C. Dobbs was a sergeant, and later captain, of Company E, 2nd Regiment, Georgia Infantry, Confederate Army, of Fannin County. He served during the Civil War from 1861 until his resignation in December of 1863. Scope and ContentDobbs' letter is addressed to J. S. Fain, Athens, Georgia, November 21, 1865, and is a response to accusations concerning the theft of brandy. Also included is a printed roster of Company E, 11th Regiment.
