Scope and ContentThis collection consists of two letters concerning the election of Robert Smith to fill the vacancy of 2nd Lieutenant of the Darien Light Artillery, created by the resignation of A. McGlashan. Dated March 30, 1861 and signed by William F. Parkhurst adn N. P. Gignilliat. Also included is a list of arms wanted by the Artillery (swords, Maynard rifles), dated March 17, 1861.
