Historical Note

Charles Alden Rowland (1833-1902) was married to Catherine Barnes Whitehead (1838-1917). Mary Ann Wallace Dent (1821-1852) of Augusta married into the Whitehead family.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of three diaries written by Charles Alden Rowland, one diary writen by Mary Ann Dent of Augusta, two recipe books, genealogy and Bible records of the family, and writings by family members. The diaries contain many entries made on a consistent daily basis.
