Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteEvelyn Estella Lane Merritt (1920-2005) was born in Jesup, Georgia. She was the first child born to Ella Harris Lane and Lawrence Lane. She married Warren George Merritt from Greene County, Georgia. She entered Georgia State College for Women in 1938. Evelyn Merritt was a pianist, teacher, and a family archivist. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of scrapbooks, correspondence, clippings, photographs, slides, yearbooks (Georgia Tech - 1947 and Georgia State College for Women - 1942), a bible, a brides book, a diploma and school banner, and a high school autograph book.
