Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteBennie Claude Davis Richardson (1890-1978) was born in Friendship, Georgia. She taught piano in Montezuma, Georgia, for over 50 years and was the organist and choir director at First Baptist Church there for over forty years. Mrs. Richardson also composed a variety of musical pieces including songs, piano music, and children's operettas. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of musical compositions by Bennie Richardson in both published and manuscript form. Also in the collection are a few clippings, a notebook, photographs (original and photocopies), and programs for the Christmas carol service by the Montezuma Music Lovers Club which was founded by Mrs. Richardson in 1915.
