Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteEllis Wayne Felker was convicted of murder, rape, aggravated sodomy, and false imprisonment in the case of Joy Ludlam, a waitress who disappeared in November 1981. Felker was executed in the state of Georgia by electrocution on November 16, 1996. Jan Burden was his correspondent and collected his letters and other materials regarding him and his case. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of correspondence between Jan Burden and various persons, 2000-2002, chiefly involving Georgia death row cases of Wayne Felker, Tracy Housel and Terry Mincey. News stories, mostly from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the cases are also included. In addition, a craft replica of a Georgia death row cell, created by Carl Isaacs and Wayne Felker (circa 1990s) is included.
