Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteThe Beehive Press was founded by Mills Lane in 1970 in Savannah, Georgia. It specializes in publishing books about the cultural and social history of Georgia and the South. For more information, see the Beehive Press website. Edward J. Cashin (1927-2007) was a historian of colonial and Revolutionary-era Georgia. Cashin served on the faculty of Augusta State University from 1969 until his retirement in 1996. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of broadsides, catalogs, clippings, letters, book covers, and other material relating to books that Beehive Press published. Complete galleys, proofs, and typescript for Setting Out to Begin a New World is also included.
