Collection DescriptionHistorical NotePhil Hall Crawford was born in Due West, South Carolina. He was a graduate of Erskine College with a AB degree in Education and received his Masters Degree at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. Phil Crawford was a United States Army veteran where he was a 1st Lt. and served in overseas tours in North Africa and Italy for 2 1/2 years. He was a retired educator in the public school system in Georgia having taught for 34 years in Thomaston and Griffin, Georgia public schools. He died on November 7, 2006.
