Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe collection consists of correspondence from Mr. and Mrs. James Tyler Ames in Roswell, Georgia to their daughter Sarah in Chicopee, Massachusetts during 1872. Correspondence regards weather, travel, family matters, and James Ames' health, and family business. Two letters regarding the mineral corundum are written to Ames from Mark Cooper. The collection also includes correspondence from Papa Ames to Nellie dated 1875, and correspondence from Charles Bass to Sarah regarding the death of Albert C. Woodworth in 1905.
