Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteAndrew H. Sparks, Jr. (1919-1989) was a journalist and editor for the Atlanta Magazine. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1940, and served in the 8th U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Sparks met and married Olive Ann Burns, author of Cold Sassy Tree, and had a son John A. Sparks, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a daughter Becky Sparks of Atlanta. Scope and ContentThis collection contains notes and finished stories researched by Sparks while writer for and editor of Atlanta Weekly magazine; together with correspondence, unpublished short stories, and a novel entitled Wild Islands.
