Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteJohn J. Smolka served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of a diary and journals kept during World War II. Smolka records weather, and daily activities in the United States Marine Corps recording recreational activities on the Marine base at Mt. Martha Balcombe, Australia, and on the island of Puvuvu.
