Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteRobert Finley was born in 1772 in Princeton, New Jersey. He held a B.A. from the College of New Jersey (1787) and became President of Franklin College (University of Georgia) in 1817. He conducted a whirlwind tour of Georgia to garner support, but upon his return to Athens from this trip, he died of fever on October 3, 1817. He was buried in what is today the Jackson Street Cemetery in Athens. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of one silhouette portrait of Robert Finley.
