Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteErskine Caldwell (1903–1987) was an author who grew up in the American South. He is most famous for his novels Tobacco Road and God's Little Acre, which won him critical acclaim because of his writings about poverty, racism and social problems in the South. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of typed correspondences between Erskine Caldwell and William Goldhurst. Correspondences are dated 1970-1985, and regard speaking engagements and publication efforts. The collection also consists a photograph, newspaper clippings, announcements, travel itineraries and miscelaneous printed materials related to Erskine Caldwell.
