Collection DescriptionHistorical NotePat Conroy was a contemporary southern author who wrote several highly popular books, including The Water Is Wide, The Great Santini, The Lords of Discipline, The Prince of Tides, and Beach Music. The Townsend Prize for Fiction, which honors Georgia writers, was created in his honor.
