Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe collection consists of letters from Ernest Leo Gordon to his mother, Mrs. E.L. Gordon of Hull, Georgia. Letters describe Gordon's basic training at Fort McPherson, Georgia; Camp Bowie, Texas; and his radio training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 1945, Gordon wrote from England, France, Belgium, Germany, and Czechoslovakia mainly about family, friends, and items he requests. Gordon's letters also mention the battles he participated in and his duties during the post war months.
