Scope and Content

The collection consists of three letters and an article (reproduction) regarding the Double Barrel Cannon. Correspondences include correspondence from the Augusta Arsenal regarding Mr. Gilleland's invention, an article Montgomery wrote for the National Guardsman on the Double Barrel Cannon, and correspondence regarding land the cannon was tried out on, including a sworn statement that Cook found the double barrel cannon.
