Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteSharon Lynn Webb, Georgia science fiction author and resident of Blairsville, Georgia. Webb was born in Tampa, Florida on February 29, 1936, the daughter of William Wesley Talbott and Eunice Geraldine Tillman. On February 6, 1956, she married W. Bryan Webb. Their children were Wendy, Jerri, and Tracey. From 1953 to 1956, Webb was a student Florida Southern College. She studied at the University Miami in 1962. In 1972, she earned her associate degree in Nursing from the Miami-Dade School Nursing. During this period (from 1960 to 1966), she worked as a freelance writer. She was an RN for the South Miami Hospital from 1972 to 1973 and for Union General Hospital, Towns County Hospital, Blairsville, Georgia from 1973 to 1981. Webb is the author of RN (1981), Earthchild (1982), Earth Song (1983), Ram Song (1984), Adventures of Terra Tarkington (1985), Pestis 18, 1987, The Halflife (1989), and over 40 short stories. She is a member of the Author's Guild/League and Science Fiction Writers of America where she served as south/central director and as a member of the board directors. The papers contain correspondence, manuscripts of her works, printed material relating to science fiction, and personal notebooks. The correspondence includes letters from readers, members of various science fiction associations, and other science fiction writers such as Issac Asimov, Jeff Duntemann, John M.
