Elijah was born in Canton, Georgia on September 4, 1857, and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. For further information, see his alumni sketch. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of three letters written by Elijah A. Brown to his parents in 1875. Correspondence discusses activities and teachers at the University of Georgia, and churches and ministers in Athens. A fourth letter, undated, addressed to Elizabeth Brown from Henry Holcombe Tucker discusses Tucker's election as chancellor of the University of Georgia.
