Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteThe Lucy Cobb Institute, a secondary school for young women in Athens, was founded in 1859 by Thomas R.R. Cobb. The Lucy Cobb Institute is included on the National Register of Historic Places, and is now the administrative home of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
