Augustus P. Wetter provisions agreement
Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe collection consists of a manuscript copy of an agreement between the Confederate States of America and Augustus P. Wetter, Chatham County, Georgia. The agreement states that Wetter will provide the CSA with corn meal and grist. Details of the delivery, processing and quantity of the products are given, as are conditions under which the contract is voided. Wetter agrees to put into operation Lamar's Mill in Savanah on January 1, 1864. On behalf of the Confederate government, Major MacPherson B. Miller agrees to provide certain services, and to pay Wetter a specific percentage of the mill's production as compensation for his services. Administrative InformationPreferred CitationAugustus P.
