Historical Note

Norman Matthews (b. 1879) of Marysville, Washington, was a cocker, boxing manager and boxing fan.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a scrapbook constructed by Norman Matthews. The scrapbook contains ticket stubs from boxing matches, autographs and photographs of famous boxers (including Max Baer, Sonny Liston, Joe Louis, and James J. Jeffries), 1888-1960. The collection also includes an explanatory letter (dated June 19, 1963), and newspaper articles concerning Norman Matthews.
