Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteProsper Julius Alphonso Berckmans (1830-1910), and his father, Louis Mathieu Berckmans, born in Belgium, moved to Augusta, Georgia, established Fruitlands Nursery (now Augusta National Golf Club). The notebook contains sketches and descriptions of various species of fruits and vegetables, including gooseberries, apples, pumpkins, and pears.
