Scope and ContentThe collection consists of one patent for land, dated October 1776, presented by John Vanderen and signed by John Penn of Pennsylvania. It relates to land in Westmoreland County and the manor of Pittsburgh. The partially printed document on vellum also retains the elaborate colonial seal of Pennsylvania.
