Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteEdward P. Bishop (d. 1881), farmer, Athens, Clarke County, Georgia. Scope and ContentOne daybook of Edward P. Bishop from 1852, 1858-1865, containing accounts, recipes, and memoranda; telling of work done, when crops and/or gardens were planted and harvested, when and where hens were set, and when hogs were killed. Several pages in center of book were used as scratch paper for arithmetic and algebra problems. The volume also contains a few diary entries of his daughter, Mary Carleton Bishop Talmadge (1895).
