Several pages in center of book were used as scratch paper for arithmetic and algebra problems. The volume also contains a few diary entries of his daughter, Mary Carleton Bishop Talmadge (1895).

The collection consists of a two-sided diary of Mary Holdsworth, from July 1833 to 1845. Some entries are also written by Mary's sister, Jane Holdsworth. The diary entries cover day-to-day activities, social events, accounts of travel, and several handwritten recipes. Both kitchen and medicinal, the recipes range from Plumb Pudding and Raspberry Vinegar, to Furniture Oil and Medicine for Cough. Some recipes appear to be authored by other family members and friends.

Series one consists of scrapbook material kept by Leila Mize pertaining to her activities in school and as a teacher and home demonstration agent. There are documents about the Cooperative Extension Service, genealogical materials on the Telford, Ritchie, and Tuck families, Moina Michael, Lurline Collier, the Old Greenville Presbyterian Church, S.C., Hebron Presbyterian Church, and information about her daughter, Jessie Julia Mize. In addition, there are report cards, programs, photographs, and correspondence chiefly between Leila Mize and Jessie Mize but including a letter from Richard B. Russell to Charles Mize. Series two has documents concentrating on Jessie Mize. Among other things, there are news clippings, correspondence, photographs, booklets, a House of Representative Resolution, certificates, diplomas, a memory book, and a sampling of Jessie Mize's publications along with her G-Book. Additionally, there are notes belong to LG Hardman and a certificate and diploma belonging to Jessie's father, Charles A. Mize.

The collection consists of papers of James Eppinger and the Eppinger family and includes letterbooks, a journal, and a property book containing entries listing property bought and sold in Georgia; birth, death and sales of slaves; cash accounts for sales and purchases. The materials document Eppinger's business activities, cotton trade, Georgia land sales, plantation management and farming, his service in the Georgia House of Representatives, his law practice, Georgia politics, and Reconstruction. The papers also include a form book, a cash book, a legal ledger, and two books containing recipes for ink, soap, as well as remedies for various illnesses.

The collection consists of letters to Arabella Cleveland from the Dent family and a few other friends, although the majority of the letters are from Ophelia. After their father's death, Miriam and Ophelia operated a dairy on the plantation, and the letters describe daily life on the plantation including weather, the Hofwyl dairy, food, flowers, servants, family dogs and poignant letters about their deaths, social events, travel, antiques, sewing and clothes. Ophelia often visited the Belins at their home Evermay (Washington, DC) and the DuPonts at their estate Longwood (Kennett Square, PA). The Dents were friends with the Haynes family at Ashantilly, the Huston family at Butler Plantation and the Phillips family in Savannah.
