Collection DescriptionBiographical/Historical noteJan Kemp, a former developmental studies teacher, successfully sued UGA in the 1980's for wrongful termination after she criticized the university and the athletic association for admitting and maintaining the eligibility of student-athletes unable to perform college-level work. Frederick Corbet "Fred" Davison was the President of the University of Georgia. He served in that capacity from 1967 until his resignation in 1986. Scope and ContentThe collection consists of clippings, editorials, and media files about allegations made by Jan Kemp and her lawsuit against the University of Georgia. The materials include clippings and files from local, state, regional, and national media outlets. Also included are editorials and clippings related to Fred C.
