Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteBlack Theatrical Ensemble (BTE) was founded at the University of Georgia in 1976 and was created with the purpose of preserving the legacy of Afro-centric theatre through the production of plays, essays, poems, and other literary works written by Black authors and playwrights, and authors of all races who write about issues in the African-American experience. Scope and ContentThis collection dates from 1992 to 1994. It consists of posters and flyers advertising auditions and plays. The collection also includes news clippings and photographic proofs.
