W. Porter Kellam Conference collection
Collection DescriptionBiographical/historical noteW. Porter Kellam served as Director of Libraries at the University of Georgia from 1950 until his retirement in 1973. In 1982, a fund was created in his name that was designed to provide professional development activities for the faculty of the University of Georgia Libraries and other librarians in the state and region. Among other things, the fund supported the 1991 W. Porter Kellam conference that focused on developments in academic libraries during the course of Kellam's career. Scope and ContentBox one consists of 10 cassette tapes. Seven of the tapes are labeled as being from the 1991 Porter Kellam Conference and the other three are labeled "Speaker 1, 2 and 5." Box two contains correspondence and other materials (1984-1991) relating to the Conference. Administrative InformationConditions governing access noteThrough this collection is open for research the audiovisual recordings are in their original format and do not have copies available for public use.
