Collection DescriptionScope and ContentThe Art Rosenbaum Oral History Series includes six interviews with Art Rosenbaum, interviewed by Craig Breaden in Athens, Georgia. Rosenbaum (born 1938) is an art professor emeritus at the University of Georgia, an artist, musician, and folklorist. In 2008, he won a Grammy award for Best Historical Album for his music collection Art of Field Recording Volume I: Fifty Years of Traditional American Music Documented by Art Rosenbaum (released in November 2007). In these interviews, Rosenbaum talks about collecting and recording songs, the history behind some of the tracks on his 2007 music collection, and the response after the collection was released.
