Collection DescriptionHistorical NoteRussell King obtained his law degree in 1974 from the Univeristy of Georgia School of Law. He then was in private practive from 1974-1975 before joining the office of Senator Herman Talmadge. There, he assumed various positions, including legislative assistant, counsel, and legislative director. After leaving Talmadge's office, King worked for Southern Railway as a special representative, and also served as counsel to Freeport Minerals Company. Scope and ContentThis collection documents Russell King's time in the office of Senator Herman E. Talmadge. It contains news articles, memos, newsletters, and invitations to presidential events.
