The collection consists of 45 account books that span from September 1959 to September 1968. The account books include dates, names of employees, hours worked, and rate of pay. There is also a folder of loose ledger sheets from April 1969 through April 1970. The loose ledger sheets include names, dates, hours worked, rate of pay, overtime, gross pay, taxes , insurance, rent, savings, and net pay. There are sheets from all three shifts. Included in the collections are four calendar/workbooks from the Carter Traveler Company and one from the Victor Steel Spinning Travelers Company. Also included is My Private Secretary, a booklet that contains information about mill machinery, bobbins, and production, in addition to keeping mill records. A safety award given to Whitehall Mills from the Georgia Textile Manufacturers Assocition for 1969 is also included.

The collection also includes a copy of Zina Dusenberry: Fact and Fiction : Material Relating to Elfrieda Hochbaum's Unpublished Novel, The Deer. Other materials include Orra Dusenberry's school papers and genealogy research regarding Private Smith's military service. A family tree of the Northrup family, of which the Dusenberrys and Smiths are a part, is also part of these genealogy papers. Orra Dusenberry's black tote bag inscribed with his name is also included.

Colonel Olmstead writes to Captain E. P. Lawton to inform him that Major General David Hamlin of the Federal Army sent a communication demanding the immediate surrender of Fort Pulaski to the forces of the United States at Tybee Island. Olmstead informs Hamlin that he sent word he would not surrender, and shortly thereafer the Fort came under attack, which continued throughout the night. Cut off from relief, Olmstead eventually yields the fort.

The collection consists of a single account book listing patient names, services, charges, and payments for Dr. William C. Nixon's medical practice in Floyd County, Georgia. His medical services included the dressing and setting of broken limbs as well as removing splinters from them, the extraction of teeth, conducting of uterine exams, and the attendance of women in parturition. Among the medicines he prescribed were opium, morphine, quinine, and paregoric. A cross-reference of Census records reveal that Dr. Nixon treated African-American patients, including members of the Zuber family.
