The collection consists of photograph albums, clippings, printed material, and essays collected and constructed by Laura McManus, pertaining to Laurel Falls Camp and Lillian Smith, from 1925-1966. Photographs (several of which are annotated and dated) depict campers and counselors; and a scrapbook made in the craft shop at Laurel Falls, contains drawings of leaves and photographs portraying campers participating in camp activities, such as dances, archery, performances, and cabin life. Of special interest is I, Laura, a booklet made by McManus upon her return to Camp in 1950, containing photographs from her time at Camp Laurel in 1935. The collection also includes a journal article by Lillian Smith, and issues of The North Georgia Review and Pseudopodia (both edited by Smith).

The collection consists of one letter dated Athens, June 30, 1834, to Alexander H. Stephens in Crawfordville, Georgia, signed M. L. Barron. Barron, a student at the University of Georgia, writes of other students, college president Dr. Alonzo Church, and the sectarian difficulties plaguing the college. The last portion of the letter is dated July 2, after Barron has graduated. He writes, "The scene has very much changed (...) I retract most of what I have said in the first part of this letter."

Also mentioned are moves to Mississippi and Arkansas (Warren and Pine Bluff).

The collection consists of letters written by brothers Bill and Jack Colgan to their family in Waycross, Georgia, 1942-1946. The majority of the letters (written by Bill) are addressed to Mrs. W. W. Phillips, and begin in San Antonio, Texas where Bill was in pre-flight school. Bill mentions schooling, physical training, meals, sports, entertainment, types of planes, and the details of his daily life as a soldier. A letter dated May 17, 1945 gives some information about his career as a fighter-bomber pilot in the 79th Fighter Group, 87th Squadron and the 86th Fighter Group, 525th Fighter Squadron, and ends the letter with "P.S. Only 3 of the 1000 guys made it." Jack Colgan wrote from Fort McPherson (Atlanta, GA) and Abilene, Texas.

The letters discuss the cotton market, cotton prices and shipping orders including invoices and receipts. One letter dated November 15, 1867 is written on a printed copy of "Savannah Weekly Review and Prices Current." Companies include Hall & Dexter (later Charles E. & Amory Dexter); Padelford, Fay & Co. (later Padelford & Cope); Ruse, Davis & Long; and N. L. McCready & Co. (in New York).

The collection consists of letters written by Inglet to his wife Martha (Mattie) in Berzelia, Georgia (Columbia County) during his service as a Confederate soldier during the Civil War. His letters give details of the war as his company moves to Manassas, VA; Fredericksburg, VA; Richmond, VA; Yorktown, VA; Petersburg, VA; Wilmington, NC; James Island, SC; Baldwin, FL; and Charleston, SC. He names fellow soldiers who are killed or wounded and discusses the harsh conditions of camp life. Also given are details of battles at Williamsburg, Fredericksburg, Petersburg, and Yorktown. He was wounded in the hand on June 27, 1862 at Cold Harbor, VA and in the foot on October 7, 1864 at Darbytown Road, VA. The final letters in the collection are written from hospitals in Virginia (Jackson Hospital in Richmond) and Georgia (Blackie Hospital in Augusta). There is also one undated poem/letter from Martha Inglet to her husband.
