The collection consists of a photo album compiled by Mortimer Clasgens. Photographs depict soldiers at ease, camp life, and civilian scenes around Montgomery. One letter from Champion to Georgia Governor George Michael Troup expressing Champion's displeasure of "Ashayer's" paper "Roads and Canals," which argues that roads have various advantages over a canal system. In the letter Champion states his preference for a canal system connecting the Southern states, though this system which was never adopted. Accompanying the letter is a hand drawn map of a proposed railway from Savannah and Macon to the Western States.

This collection consists of architectural drawings that were created by William Ramsey's architectural firms from 1960 through 1996. Most of Ramsey's work is for architecture in Georgia, particularly the Atlanta area, with a notable exception consisting of drawings submitted for a City of Boston competition. His drawings include numerous plans for parks such as Heritage Park in Oconee County and University Center (an urban renewal park) in Atlanta. The collection has Ramsey's public housing designs for the Atlanta Housing Authority Project and campus master plans for various Georgia college (including UGA) campuses. In addition, there are drawings for subdivisions, single homes, condominiums and apartments in Atlanta and around the State.

The collection consists of papers read at annual meetings of the South Atlantic Modern Language Association between 1960 and 1992. Files for most years also include annual bulletins from the association. SAMLA's yearly meetings include special topic sessions in which scholars focusing in those topics present their research on topics such as: Advanced Writing, American Literature, Folklore, Freshman English, Renaissance English, Medieval English, Restoration and 18th century English, Romantic and Victorian English, Modern English, Teaching Language and Literature, Linguistics, Film Studies, Children's Literature, Comparative Literature, Women's Studies, Irish Studies, Slavic Studies, and Teaching English with Technological Advances. SAMLA also has annual sessions for languages including: Old English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Slavic languages, Asian Languages, Scandinavian languages, Latin, and Italian, among others. Papers on all of these topics and many more can be found within this collection. The earlier years of this collection contain about forty to fifty papers each. This number grows until 1985, which contains over 100 papers. However, it should be noted that this collection does not contain every paper from every SAMLA session, as contributing a paper to this collection was voluntary on the part of the author.
