The collection consists of pins, medals, v-mail, photographs, and photocopies of newspaper clippings from World War II. V-mail contains notes and drawings, and is from Lt. Savo Vukomanovkh to Mrs. Vira Wise of Huntsville, Alabama, and Paul Gentile to Mary Alice Wise of New York. Captioned photographs depict military personnel and aircrafts, at work and at ease. Newspaper clippings (photocopies) concern West Point graduates, the Citizen Army 'Core and West Point, and West Point graduates entering the Army on D-Day. Some miscellaneous items include a war ration book of Mary Alyce Wise, four twenty-five cent War Savings Stamps belonging to Diana Lynn Matthews, a printed prayer by Pvt. Michael S. Richard B. Russell Jr. served in public office for fifty years as a state legislator (1920-1931), governor of Georgia (1931-1932), and U.S. Senator (1933-1971). Best known for his opposition to civil rights legislation, Russell also focused on national defense, agriculture, soil and water conservation, and economic growth in Georgia. Russell's papers document the entirety of his career, with the vast majority of the materials focusing on his terms in the U.S. Senate. The records include constituent correspondence and other correspondence files, speeches and media files, legislative files, files on civil rights, and published materials.

The bulk of the Snelling papers represent the full range of Snelling's duties in his association with the University of Georgia. Of particular interest in this series are his dealings with academics, athletics, and social fraternities, plus a military section dealing with Snelling's role as Commandant of Cadets. The Personal Papers, include private and personal financial records, dealing with Snelling's roles of fiscal oversight with the City of Athens, the National Bank of Athens, and regional railroad interests. Personal family correspondence is found here, as is an extended group of papers dealing with Snelling's involvement in the development of northeast Georgia in and around Mountain City in Rabun County, especially with regard to commercial apple production. Of particular interest in the Snelling papers are a folder on the dedication of Sanford Stadium in 1929; a file from 1928 of correspondence with Gutzon Borglum; a file on student absences and conduct; a series of files involving the University with Federal and State Governmental officials; a folder on the Iconoclast incident; a subseries of files dealing with the Physical Plant; files charting the development and first years of the Institute of Public Affairs and International Relations at the University; a significant group of files dealing with speeches at the University; and an extensive body of correspondence with other Colleges and Universities.

The Anne L. Sweaney collection consists of materials from her career with the College of Family and Consumer Sciences' Home and Consumer Economics department. The collection has manuscripts that she wrote on topics ranging from low income housing to the quality of life for older adults. There are records of Sweaney's research including the SMART HOUSE studies (1988 through 1991) and her work on various Southern Regional Projects (1970s-1990s). Other documents relate to her teaching (1981-2012), serving as head of the HACE department (2004-2012) and as Interim Dean of FACS (2010-2011). Also included is information about conferences that she attended and presented at along with grants that went toward funding her numerous studies and research projects. The collection consists of correspondence, financial papers, photographs, speeches and writings, and printed material arranged in alphabetical order by name or subject. Although the bulk of the material concerns Caldwell's career, some are paersonal and family papers and consist of correspondence with his parents, his brother Alvin, and various aunts, uncles and cousins, including Hattie Dunlop who apparently suffered from paranoia. The farm papers deal with a house and land in Meriwether County that had been in the Caldwell family for many years. Caldwell took it over in 1940, made many improvements, and considered it his legal residence. Boxes 48-50 contain Caldwell's personal financial papers. Of special interest are the Board of Regents papers; Walter Cocking controversy, Ty Cobb and the Cobb Educational Foundation; Berry College papers; the Wallace Butts football scandal; and the papers of the colleges and universities in the University System of Georgia with their various achievements or problems. Correspondents include Omer Clyde Aderhold, Walter Blackstock, Callaway family (Pine Mountain, Ga.), Lamar Dodd, Stewart Gelders, Hodgson family (Athens, Ga.), Joseph Winthrop Holley, John Alton Hosch, Lucy Stanley MacArthur, Moina Michael, Jonathan Clark Rogers, Steadman Vincent Sanford, Hughes Spalding, and Herman Talmadge.
