The collection consists of two notebooks containing writings of John Jones Gresham. The larger volume contains orations delivered at exhibitions and events at the University of Georgia (1830-1833). Reversing the book, Gresham wrote Moot questions, notes, and accounts of money received and paid out (1835). The smaller volume includes Gresham's valedictory speech delivered at his graduation from the University of Georgia in 1833 (which is also included in the larger volume).

The collection consists of papers of Paula Snelling from 1915-1985. Papers include Paula's Teacher's certificate, newspaper clippings, copies of letters of recommendation, and school papers (course outlines and school reports written by Snelling during her years at Wesleyan Female College and Columbia University). Correspondence are mainly to Paula from family members and friends; and some are from friends Snelling and Lillian Smith knew from Laurel Falls Camp. The collection also includes first edition books by Lillian Smith with personal inscriptions to Paula; the 1919 edition of The Veterropt, the yearbook of Wesleyan College; and a playbill for Stranger Fruit. Of particular interest is School Teaching, pro and con, a paper written by Snelling, and a newspaper clipping explaining the "Why I am a teacher" contest that Snelling's paper won.

The additional unarranged accessions contain drafts, galleys, and proofs of Bishop's work, as well as related correspondence, awards, magazines that include his work, and conference programs.

The collection consists of biographical information, family correspondence, personal correspondence, business correspondence, writings and speeches, financial papers, printed material, photographs, and artifacts. Family correspondence is between Burch and his parents, siblings, aunts, nieces and nephews. He writes descriptive letters from Japan in 1954 and more from London in 1978-1979. A majority of the business correspondence is with publishers, especially Viking Press, the publisher of most of his books. There is also correspondence with elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and libraries that he visited for speaking engagements, conferences and book signings. Writings include journals of his freighter trips, and typed versions and galley proofs of many of his books. A large portion of the financial papers are royalty statements from the sale of his books. There are photographs of Burch and his family and friends, and photographs of Japan taken while he lived there. Also included are photographs of dogs, ducks, swans, and koi all of which he considered as pets.

The John E. Drewry Papers reveal Drewry as a reporter, author, student, instructor, dean, and dean emeritis through correspondence, notes, manuscripts, photographs, and clippings. Located within Drewry's papers are unique insights into the world of magazine and newpaper publishing in America during the mid-twentieth century. There are copies of many of Drewry's lectures and speeches plus documentation of his involvement in organizations such as the Georgia Scholastic Press Association and the Georgia Collegiate Press Association. Additionally Drewry's involvement with the Peabody Awards from their inception in 1940 is represented through correspondence and photographs. Box 15 includes a folder of personal correspondence from 1931-1937 regarding Kathleen Drewry. These letters have been photocopied from originals in ms 3271 and have been added to this accession for the information they add regarding Drewry's life.

The collection consists of copies of letters, writings, transcripts of diaries, and other materials of Clark Berry Stewart from 1836-1839 and 1848-1885. Included is a fine collection of Civil War letters from his son-in-law, J.L. Stoddard, who was serving in Virginia. The diary transcripts (copied from the WPA transcripts) contain short entries discussing his religious education, social life, his service as a minister including where he preached (mostly in South Carolina), his farming activities, and finances.

The collection consists of materials belonging to Dr. Elon Eugene Byrd of the Parasitology Department at the University of Georgia. These materials were generated as a result of his research in Samoa during World War II and reflect his involvement in malaria research and his discovery of a new species of flukes. Also included in the collection is Byrd's diary of some of his activities, as well as correspondence, writings, lantern slides, film, plate blocks, Dr. Byrd's diplomas and theses, and a journal of bird studies.

After Reece's suicide in 1958, much of the correspondence of Eva Mae Reece pertains to memorials to her brother Byron Herbert Reece and copyright renewals of his works.

The collection consists of correspondence, a diary, writings, and other papers of Robert G. Stone, who was a Confederate soldier with Company K, 15th Georgia Infantry; together with land plats and indentures to property in Hancock and Washington Counties, Ga.; and other ephemera such as Stone's C. S. A. cuff link and medals. Stone's few letters and diary entries follow his service from 1860 through 1865, when he surrendered at Appomattox Court House shortly before General Lee's surrender. Stone left Sparta, Georgia in 1860 and served in battles at Chattanooga, Richmond, Antietam, 2nd Manassas, Sharpsburg, Appomattox Courthouse, etc. His activities were recorded on a bible cover which is part of this collection.
