Consists of materials pertaining to Charlesey Sumner Brown's 1956 European summer trip. Brown, a teacher, was supposed to return to America onboard the S.S. Andrea Doria; however, the ship capsized and sank on July 26, 1956, a few weeks before Brown was scheduled to return home. Collection includes detailed account of travels in her journal, telegrams to her father, C.H. Whitehead, regarding rearranging travel home to America, and also receipts, brochures, and two photographs documenting her trip.

Consists of one letter from Fannie Hansell to Louisa Young Jones on March 13, 1864 from Oglethorpe, Macon County, Georgia. Jones was the sister of General Pierce Manning Butler Young. The letter discusses Camp Sumter, or Andersonville Prison Camp. She describes the miserable conditions and notes that many prisoners are "constantly" trying to escape.
