Andrea Doria; however, the ship capsized and sank on July 26, 1956, a few weeks before Brown was scheduled to return home. Collection includes detailed account of travels in her journal, telegrams to her father, C.H. Whitehead, regarding rearranging travel home to America, and also receipts, brochures, and two photographs documenting her trip.

The letter discusses Camp Sumter, or Andersonville Prison Camp. She describes the miserable conditions and notes that many prisoners are "constantly" trying to escape.
