The collection consists of two original letters from Richard H. Wilde: dated August 6, 1818, recipient unknown, regarding
legal matters; March 31, 1840, to William Mann, Esq. in Venice, requesting a reference from the library of St. Mark in Venice,
with "My life is like the summer rose," and two clippings regarding the death of Richard Henry Wilde attached. Also included
are two copies, made in 1957, of letters from Richard H. Wilde: dated November 27, 1834, to R. Gilmer; March 1, 1845, to Abbot
Lawrence, Boston, introducing Mr. J. E. Johnson, the artist who will be erecting a statue of Dr. Benjamin Franklin. The final
page consists of typed notes copied from Dr. E. Tucker, regarding pictures, portraits, and a bust of Wilde.
