The collection consists of mementos saved by Frank Palfrey from his years at the University of Georgia. Items include "Soils laboratory notes," "Cotton ind. lab. notes," two photographs of UGA buildings, examination books, Young Men's Christian Association membership card, and a name and address list of students of the class of 1921 (for the 50th reunion). The collection also includes the 1921 edition of Pandora, filled with loose papers. Papers include Palfrey's Alpha Zeta Alumni Association of Georgia membership card, University of Georgia examination book, an issue of the Red and Black, issue of Alpha Zeta Newsletter, University of Georgia report cards, and University of Georgia commencement programs for 1917 and 1921.

This collection includes minutes, reports and support documents dating from 1822 to 1967. The faculty minutes for 1846 to 1850 and 1890 to 1902 are missing and may have been destroyed in the Library fire of 1904. In addition, the collection is missing the minutes from 1934 through 1944 but does include the ones from 1945 through 1957. There are also a few minutes from 1958 to 1967. The faculty records relate to matters regarding curriculum, self-governance, administration functions and student discipline. They date from 1894 through 1909.

The news clippings and brochures are mostly from 1968-1969 and also have information about the United Party and her role as the SGA's Secretary for that time. The Harry E. Harman III scrapbook collection consists of four scrapbooks created by Harry Harman III. One of the scrapbooks focuses on his father, Harry Harman II, who was a star player on the University of Georgia football and baseball teams in the early 20th century. This scrapbook mostly deals with the senior Harman's 1908 athletic season. The other three scrapbooks were also created by the younger Harman and feature his athletic career from 1926 through 1937. The two early scrapbooks feature Harry's high school sports career at Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry, Virginia. One of these scrapbooks includes correspondence from various coaches (including Georgia's coach H.J. Stegeman) to Harmon. The fourth scrapbook is devoted to Harry's athletic endeavors at the University of Georgia. In addition to the scrapbooks, also included is the younger Harmon's Southeastern Conference high jump medal from 1937.

Additionally, it also has an organizations list from the Deparment of Student Activities, miscellaneous notes from University Union meetings, revisions and referedums for the Student Handbook, Certificate of Merit Conference papers, and Student Athletic Association fees and ticket papers.

The Richter collection contains over 600 negatives from 1941-1943. Positive images have been scanned by the Photoservices Unit of the Digital Library of Georgia and are available at the beginning of the collection. The information used in the inventory consists largely of the information recorded by Richter on his storage envelopes. The envelopes were arranged alphabetically by the information recorded by Richter, but have been rearranged in five broad categories: campus groups, locations, and events; World War II at UGA; university athletics; fraternities and sororities; and individual portraits. In a few instances, damage to an envelope obliterated information. In several other cases the negatives were damaged, but images were still taken from them for historical interest.

This collection consists of materials that Conrad Fink either created or collected during his lifetime of news reporting and teaching journalism at UGA. Included are numerous articles that he summited to the Associated Press (AP) while covering Asia during the mid-1960s along with general interest stories about the U.S. written for the AP during the 1980s to 2000s. There is information about various newspapers around the country, their daily workings and the owners of these papers. There are also documents (1977-2011) related to the classes that Fink taught and the speeches that he presented along with galleys, reviews and other materials connected to books that he authored. In addition, the collection holds a large amount of both his professional and personal correspondence dating from the 1980s to 2011.

This collection consists of reviews and assessments for many of UGA's major academic programs. These reports date from 1992 through 2012 and were used, in conjuction with other studies, by the Task Force on General Education and Student Learning. This Task Force presented a report (using the earlier data) on how to meet the challenges for undergraduate general education at the University in 2005. In addition to its use by the UGA Administration and the Task Force, these documents also provide researchers with information on the operations of most of the major academic programs found at UGA in the 1990s through the 2000s. The collection also contains strategic planning records, information on the senior administrators' retreat, and annual reports.

University Archives obtained these materials from Dean Tate's son, Jeff Tate of Athens Georgia. Much of the collection was removed for preservation from two scrapbooks assembled after Tate's death by his wife, the late Susan Frances Barrow Tate (1908-2003). Along with photographs documenting Tate and his family there are views of the University and University activities, materials related to University Chancellor David C.
