The collection consists of papers of Paula Snelling from 1915-1985. Papers include Paula's Teacher's certificate, newspaper
clippings, copies of letters of recommendation, and school papers (course outlines and school reports written by Snelling
during her years at Wesleyan Female College and Columbia University). Correspondence are mainly to Paula from family members
and friends; and some are from friends Snelling and Lillian Smith knew from Laurel Falls Camp. The collection also includes
first edition books by Lillian Smith with personal inscriptions to Paula; the 1919 edition of The Veterropt, the yearbook
of Wesleyan College; and a playbill for Stranger Fruit. Of particular interest is School Teaching, pro and con, a paper written
by Snelling, and a newspaper clipping explaining the "Why I am a teacher" contest that Snelling's paper won.

note are the circa 1910 University of Georgia felt scrapbook, the booklet on rural home design by the noted Athens architect
of the Craftsman period, Fred J. Orr, and the eye-catching illustrated broadside on fly control.
