"Georgia, 1773"; a certificate for bounty of land, signed by General Samuel Elbert, March 15, 1785; document signed by Benjamin
Andrew, Savannah, June 22, 1785; a document on commercial matters including the sale of salt, signed by Joseph Clay, Savannah,
March 4, 1773; letter regarding the appointment of Tax Collector for Chatham County, signed by W. Gibbons, Joseph Clay, and
US Senator George Jones, Savannah, March 12 [14], 1798; two receipts signed by William C. Houston, April 15, 1786, on verso
of a bill for legal fees; and a bill for boat hire for the "use of the detachments doing duty on the Skidoway & Hoseba islands,"
signed by Joseph Wood, on verso of a bill rendered to Georgia by James DeVeaux, January 19, 1777.

to his wife, Yuma Gore Jolley, in Albertville, Alabama. Because of censorship he could not write her any details of combat,
but his 2 September 1944 letter mentioned that he had been in four major battles. The printed material includes autographs
of his fellow passengers on the "Queen Mary" and information about the 35th Division.

The collection consists of a group photograph of the five members of the National Transportation Committee at its organization
meeting in New York City in October, 1932. The members were Bernard M. Baruch, Clark Howell, Alfred E. Smith, Alexander Legge,
and Calvin Coolidge. The first four members sent autographed letters to Dr. McHatton; Henry E. Ross, Secretary, sent a letter
with Coolidge's autograph enclosed. There is also a letter from Dr. Harvey Cushing, Yale University School of Medicine, to
Dr. McHatton, July 18, 1936.

The collection consists of correspondence written by Nunnally Johnson, clippings and other documents. The earliest letter,
dating from December 1946 (only "Tuesday" appears in the heading), is written on Johnson's personalized stationery and addressed
to movie columnist Louella Davis. Johnson discusses the Christmas party he hosted and thanks Louella for her mention of The
Dark Mirror in Cosmopolitan. Two of the letters, both from April 1952, are written to director George Cukor regarding the
casting and filming of Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel. Another letter, dated January 22, 1958, is written to Jimmy Starr
concerning the Academy Awards and Joanne Woodward. There is a series of personal letters between Johnson and his friend, director,
and author Robert Parrish from the 1970s. There is a also a letter to Leon Jaworski, U. S. Special Prosecutor during Watergate,
in which Johnson gives his opions on a suitable punishment for President Nixon.

The collection consists of biographical information, correspondence, school papers and writings, financial items, printed
material, diplomas and photographs. The correspondence includes letters from York's siblings and friends. Much of the correspondence
is written on humorous postcards of that time period. A 1913 letter from W. A. Cunningham (head coach at the University of
Georgia) contains diagrams of football plays. The school papers include a University of Georgia football banquet program (1910)
with signatures by coaches and players, and two compositions describing York's trip from Fort McPherson (Ga.) to Cuba in 1906.
There are photographs of houses where Gus York lived, a wagon train in Cuba, county extension work, and a panorama view of
the University of Georgia class of 1912-1913.
